Early Years Psychology

Branding / The Hague, The Netherlands, March 2018

Child and parent psychologist Sara Domínguez, PhD, specializing in from-birth child-parent psychology and communication, sought a logo that encapsulated the essence of this vital human interaction. The design needed to convey colors and elements that resonated with her field and reflected her core values: soothingness, global respect, care-taking, and inclusive care. I focused on creating a logo that not only visually represented the nurturing relationship between parents and children but also aligned with the warmth and inclusivity central to her practice.

The challenge was to integrate the initials of the name into a visual representation of the relationship between a mother and child. The E (Early) represents the mother, while the Y (Years) takes the form of the child being held by her. Several sketches were explored, prioritizing rounded shapes to establish the right balance between stroke thickness, negative space, and illustrative forms.
